The cause of multiple sclerosis (MS) is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve a combination of  genetic, environmental, and immune system factors.

In MS, the immune system attacks the protective myelin sheath surrounding nerve fibers in the central nervous system. This attack disrupts nerve signaling and leads to the symptoms of MS.

Primary Progressive MS (PPMS) involves a gradual worsening of symptoms from the onset without distinct relapses or remissions.

Secondary Progressive MS (SPMS) often follows RRMS, where disability progressively worsens over time.

Clinically Isolated Syndrome (CIS) is a single episode of neurological symptoms lasting at least 24 hours, which may or may not develop into MS.

  • Problems with coordination and balance
